  1. Water distillation method

    Having considerable practical experience, I have developed a technology of reverse osmosis desalination of water without wastewater. As a result of the usage of this technology, effluents are formed only from the systems of preliminary water preparation before the osmotic system. Effluents after reverse osmosis system are not produced at all. This technology is applicable only for fresh and brackish waters.

    This technology is absolutely unique and has nothing to do with existing “Zero liquid” technologies. This technology has been patented this year.

    The essence of the method of water preparation is based on the preliminary formation of the ionic composition of water before reverse osmosis so that the reverse osmosis does not form a precipitate even in the case of a hundred-fold concentration of the concentrate. In order to do this, ion exchange filters are used at the stage of pre-treatment of water.  As a result, after the system of reverse osmosis desalination, we get a small amount of concentrate having a large salt content (about 30-50 ppt). This concentrate is used in ion exchange systems of water pretreatment before osmosis.

    The advantages of this method of desalination:

    1. There are no effluents after the osmotic system. Effluents are formed only as a result of ion exchange filters, which is no more than 5% of the performance of the entire water treatment system. Traditional reverse osmosis systems have about 30-40% of wastewater according to the capacity. It should be noted that the system of pre-treatment of water before the traditional osmosis should work at high productivity (ie, it should be more). We can say that taking into account the preliminary water treatment systems, the total amount of wastewater in the proposed desalination technology will be formed by 50 % less compared to traditional reverse osmosis technology!
    2. This technology uses 40-45% less chlorine sodium than traditional water softening and chlorine anionization before reverse osmosis. This is due to the return of almost all chlorine sodium with the concentrate of the osmotic unit to the regeneration of ion exchange filters.
    3. The water treatment system as a whole will be cheaper. Due to the absence of waste water after osmosis, the equipment of the pre-treatment system will operate at a much lower water productivity than with traditional osmosis.
    4. The technology makes it relatively easy to dispose of waste water formed as a result of ion exchange systems of pre-treatment of water.
    5. The technology can be used for waters containing iron.

  2. The Method of degassing water

    Invention can be used to produce deaerated and decarbonised water and its use in heat engineering. Method of water degassing includes preliminary clarification of initial water, supply to Na-cation filters, wherein hardness of softened water is maintained in range of 0.02–0.1 mg-eq/l. Solution of caustic soda is dosed into the softened water; the amount of sodium hydroxide is not more than 10–15 % of the amount of carbon dioxide in the water. Solution of sodium sulphite is then dosed into the water, wherein the amount of sodium sulphite is selected based on the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the treated water. Then, water is directed to reverse-osmosis water desalination unit, at that ratio of permeate to initial flow is set within 75–90 %. Obtained partially desalted and degassed permeate is supplied to consumer, concentrate is drained into sewerage.

    Method provides higher efficiency of chemical bonding of oxygen dissolved in water, excludes increase of salt content of treated water, and also considerably reduces total salt content of treated water.

    The proposed simple technology of membrane water degassing allows for a significant reduction in the cost of water treatment equipment, as well as a significant simplification of the technological scheme in comparison with thermal degassing. The proposed scheme also avoids the disadvantages of traditional chemical deaeration of water, since the proposed scheme does not increase the salinity of chemically deaerated water. The proposed scheme allows you to remove free carbon dioxide from the water, while the usual alkalizing of water only binds carbon dioxide, without removing it from the water.

  3. The Method for controlling and adjusting the water-chemical mode of a steam boiler

    The invention is related to the field of power engineering and is connected with the control and the adjustment of water chemistry mode (WCM) of steam boilers of low and medium pressure by analyzing the correlation between pH value and electrical conductivity (EC) of boiler water considering hydrolysis of carbonates in the boiler water.
